IMPORTANT WARRANTY INFORMATION RELATING TO EXHAUSTS

Exhaust Manufacturers are now emphasizing strict conditions on warranty.

Please make the following information available to the mechanic who will either FIT or SUPPLY the exhaust. The Warranty is valid for a period stated by the particular manufacturer. The guarantee is for manufacturing faults of materials and production. The warranty is valid from the date of purchase only if accompanied by a dated proof of purchase receipt.
Some problems you may experience when fitting a new exhaust are:

All exhausts once fitted may require either carburettor re-jetting, and in the case of Automatic Scooters, may require Variator Rollers and springs to be replaced. These may be different to what was originally fitted to the machine.

Other alterations to the machine will also have to be taken into consideration, i.e., conversion kit fitted, larger carburettor fitted, etc, etc. We offer at extra cost, a full range of  - Jets, Rollers, springs, etc, to help and assist you.

A worn belt will slip and cause problems, especially when fitting a part such as an exhaust which will enhance performance.
A worn drive belt also lowers gearing slightly and can create the misinterpretation that the exhaust is down on
performance.
A worn clutch that did not slip previously, can begin to slip because of an increase in performance.
Older models with worn contact ignition point my experience points bounce with the returned power of a new exhaust.
Scooters/Motorcycles that have rpm limiters fitted, may not achieve the full potential power increase of a new exhaust.

Certain exhausts come with rollers, but assuming that fitting the rollers supplied are correct, can sometimes be misleading.
For example - one particular exhaust supplied by the manufacturers may fit several machines. Please check that the rollers enclosed are for the machine concerned, our web pages may assist you to decide on this matter, and a link on the fitting of the roller weights is also shown on the same web page.

If there are problems in the fitting of an exhaust, it may be for several reasons. Some exhausts take more time to fit; some are tricky and take an amount of patience to ease into place. It could be the exhaust supplied may
be for an earlier/later model, the reasons can be many-fold. Contact us for assistance.

The exhausts manufacturers do not always supply all the gaskets necessary to fit the exhaust to the cylinder,
please ensure all gaskets necessary are fitted.

Certain exhausts have a conical restrictor in the downpipe to restrict power. This is mandatory for UK road use.
European law states that E marked replacement exhausts must not exceed 8% increase in performance.
Removing this restrictor invalidates the warranty. Warranty regarding exhausts is only available if the exhaust
is as supplied.

A new exhaust being returned for exchange or refund must be in the original box, with all fittings, and instructions.

Warranty DOES NOT mean automatically replacing the exhaust free of charge. The exhaust may be required to be returned to us for inspection, however, we ask you in all cases PLEASE CALL US FIRST.
If the exhaust has failed through production fault and the answer is a simple repair, this will be done free of charge to a quality standard.

If you are considering returning an exhaust.
Please include a copy of your purchase receipt. A close thorough inspection is needed to check that there are no dents, grounding marks, scruffs, or filed holes - made into slots, also that the mounting bushes are intact and have been used, and that the restrictor has not been removed. If there are signs that the exhaust has been LOOSE on the machine, there will be telltale signs of polishing on the mounting brackets. Exhausts coming loose or falling from the machine are not covered by warranty.

It is also important to note that Sports/Race type of exhausts that are supplied with a clear lacquer finish over bare metal.
These are sold as a fashion item to emulate race expansions and should be treated with an aftermarket heat resistant paint.
Once the lacquer has burned off the bare metal exhaust will be exposed to the elements, which will cause the exhaust to deteriorate, unless some form of protection is used. Due to the type of product, its use and location, rust is not covered by warranty.

If an exhaust is allowed to deteriorate to the point of disintegration, it is not possible to cover this under warranty.
A failing exhaust will be more than evident to the owner. Noise level and vibration would increase considerably
and there would be a distinct difference in power output. It is the owner's responsibility to ensure that any problems
with an exhaust are NOT allowed to escalate to the point that the exhaust falls apart. That is not covered by warranty,
regardless of mitigating circumstances.
Warranty DOES NOT mean automatically replacing the exhaust free of charge.

Mufflers can be re-packed and as such after a reasonable period should be considered for such action.
We recommend that we the suppler or an experienced local dealer carry out this service.
A leaflet outlining the points above is now supplied with all exhausts being sent out from our company.
Regardless to who fits the exhaust please always pass on the leaflet to the end user with the new exhaust.

Thank you.
