Polini offers with its IDM ignition an interesting alternative to the original ignition system.
The basic idea is also here a significant improvement in acceleration through significantly less flywheel mass. The pole wheel of the Polini IDM ignition weighs only 1,4Kg, so it is over 50% less than a standard PX fan wheel.

The resulting throttle response is fantastic and the acceleration is much more aggressive in the lower gears. This is achieved by a lightweight construction in which the rotor and fan are separate components.
In this special version the rotor has a gear rim for the electric starter.

POLINI has also supplemented its product range with electronic ignitions. Thanks to the pre-programmed curves of the digital POLINI ignition it is possible to achieve a superior torque at low revs and cooler ignition at high revs. The 4 curves provide perfect ignition for maximum performance in the range of 7,500-12,000 revs. The extra light flywheel improves the rotation of the crankshaft. This does not improve the peak performance, but it does deliver considerable thrust and impetus from below.

A must-have for every tuned engine. The Evo increases the torque curve in the lower to middling revs range and increases the rev range of the engine.
