During the 80’s Yamaha introduced the EXUP, a new exhaust system for 4-stroke engines that included a power valve which optimized the width of an engines powerband. The first of their YZF models the R1 was released in 1998 and shortly followed by the R6 in 1999 and since then they have gone from strength to strength especially with the introduction of their MT range in recent years. Lastly, our M12 Lambda Catalyst prevents the engine management light from activating, preserving ride mode select functionality. Lambda Catalyst: Installing de-cat pipework may trigger the engine management light. To prevent this, we have developed an M12 inline O2 catalyst designed to stop the engine management light from activating, which can affect ride mode select functionality on many bikes. This product spaces the lambda probe away from the main exhaust flow, while any remaining gases are filtered by the catalyst before reaching the sensor. This process tricks the ECU into thinking the catalytic converter is installed and functioning efficiently. (For motorsport use only.) Note: Not required when purchasing a Scorpion full system, as the aforementioned item is already included. Fully Interchangeable: Scorpion’s interchangeable program allows for flexible upgrades.
