Vespa GTS 250 300 GTV300 Quasar HPE Supersport Supertech GT GTV BGM PRO V2 Variator Kit
BGM PRO Vario-kit with extra long transmission range, perfect pull and high rear wheel power.
The BGM Vario uses a shorter (Kevlar-reinforced) V-belt than is usual for the Quasar engines. This allows the BGM to run a much wider range of ratios without the V-belt grazing the case, as is the case with a Malossi Vario, for example. As a result, the BGM Vario can translate significantly further, without the engine would have to turn higher. A huge advantage, especially when the engine is further tuned. With the series vario, the engine runs significantly earlier in the limiter. The power is, seen on the speed axis, thus held much longer, which is noticeable in a higher top speed.
The countless dyno and road tests have shown that the 250/300cc Quasar engines do not require a harder or different back pressure spring than the stock one. The entire engine power is therefore not lost in frictional heat but ends up where it belongs: on the rear wheel.
Compared to the Polini set, the BGM Vario does not work at an artificially increased speed level to catch an aha effect. The Polini Vario buys its (too) high speed level unfortunately with a worse efficiency.
Keeping the same acceleration speed as the stock engine means that the BGM Vario does not put more load on the engine and the power delivery is pleasantly linear. In everyday use, the superiority of the BGM Vario becomes clear in a direct 1:1 comparison.

NOTE: The drive train of the Piaggio Quasar engines (as they are installed in the Vespa GTS models) tends to rattle when idling. In this case, the V-belt under certain load conditions easily hits the guide pulley. This was positioned by Piaggio exactly for this reason, to prevent the upper and lower trum of the V-belt can not touch each other. Many new vehicles therefore make these perceptible, but harmless noises.
After the assembly of a Sportvario of Polini (P241719) or BGM (BGM2311V2), which both work with a changed V-belt and thus a somewhat steeper angle of the Trum, it can come therefore likewise to a slight noise development in the idling or little load. The noises are technically completely uncritical and do not represent a defect.
