Regrettably the original Vespa steering locks only provide limited protection against thieves. They can be quite simply defeated through the use of brute force on the handle bars. This safety locking system offers an extra level of security for potential thieves to overcome. The base of the lock is positioned beneath the seat and is solidly attached to the chassis of the Vespa. The left end of the steering assembly is then fitted with the included docking attachment for the lock, replacing any handlebar end weight. When the Vespa is left unattended, the tough cable lock is then locked to the steering assembly, representing a noticeable extra theft-deterrent.
