Vespa Lambretta Scooter BGM PRO Weld On Exhaust Spring Retainer Plate

High quality retaining plate to hold two exhaust springs. Ideal supplement for converting exhaust systems to a plug-in flange with O-ring seal or as a replacement. When converting exhaust systems to a plugged flange with O-ring, the exhaust must be secured to the cylinder and/or engine case to prevent the flange from slipping off due to exhaust pressure.

The retaining plate must be positioned on the manifold in such a way that the distance between the two points in which the spring is suspended is approx. 5 to 10mm further than the relaxed length of the spring. The shorter the selected exhaust spring is, the smaller should also be the measure that is selected as an allowance for tensioning the spring.

As a rough rule, the tension should be about 10% of the relaxed length of the exhaust spring.
