The Vespatronic is a modern, contactless high performance ignition (CDI controlled) with integrated, powerful 12 Volt alternator.
It completely replaces the existing ignition and alternator.
The set includes all parts relevant for the conversion.

Advantages:
Compared to old, often still contact-controlled ignition systems, it offers enormous advantages with regard to:

Formerly self-regulating systems (via the resistance of the consumers) are now supplied via a stable, voltage-regulated on-board network.
Vespas that already have an electronic ignition and a voltage regulator for the alternator (e.g. PK, PX, Cosa models) benefit from the following advantages, which are of course also available in versions for older vehicles (Sprint, Rally, VBB, GS150 etc.)integrated:

  • integrated dynamic ignition timing adjustment
  • lighter flywheel
  • optimized blade profile of the fan wheel
  • high light output (12V ~90W)

improvements:
With the Vespatronic Kit an old engine can be upgraded to a modern level of performance. performance and reliability. Battery-fed ignitions (e.g. GS150) become independent of a constantly charged battery thanks to the magneto ignition technology of the Vespatronic. The Vespatronic generates its ignition voltage itself and always offers best starting conditions due to the high ignition current. The self-adjusting ignition timing with increasing speed optimizes the power and torque yield and protects the engine under full load. This is equally interesting for both touring and pure racing engines. The ignition adjusts by up to 8° (example: 2,000 rpm = 23° VOT - 5,000 rpm = 21° VOT - 8,000 rpm = 15° VOT). Detailed information can be found in the data sheet, which is available for download.
The ignitions can be connected to the original wiring harness.
Depending on its condition, we recommend the conversion to our conversion wiring harness. This prevents voltage losses due to brittle and oxidized cables from the outset.
The on-board power supply runs at 12 volts, older vehicles with 6 volt bulbs should therefore be retrofitted with the appropriate 12 V bulbs. A 6 Volt horn/ratchet can usually be retained.

assembly tips from the manufacturer:

  • A wrong connection can lead to defects on the CDI, therefore keep to the circuit diagram. Very important is the ground cable.
  • Do not change the ignition coil. Avoid a mounting where the vibrations are transmitted.
  • The polar wheel nut must be mounted with the original star disc. A loose nut and a missing washer will cause damage to the shaft or the spark wheel.
  • The crankshaft bearings should be new, the spark plug and the spark plug socket should be of good quality.
  • Retract newly assembled engines
  • For engines with a high speed level, secure the fan screws with Loctite.
  • All components are checked for function before delivery.
