Polini's airbox for the small frame carburetors is actually no more than a box: There is no filter element here, the airbox is only for noise reduction.

Unfortunately Polini has now cast the previously removable white sleeves into the body. This leaves only the drilling of the pre-stamped holes to adjust the airflow. If the air intake noise becomes too loud, a suitable tube (e.g. from the DIY store / model making) can be inserted into the hole(s). This breaks the sound and still allows enough air to pass through. The version for the 24/25mm carburetors already has fully opened bores.

Gives the engine enough air and dampens the intake noise.
